Our family enjoyed a tour at the Castello di Amorosa Winery,
we thought we had left California and gone to Italy for the weekend. Our 6 year old’s favorite stop at the
Castle was the weapons room, whereas we both enjoyed the wine tasting and
particularly the Pinot Noir.
For the younger member of the family we rode the gondola up
to Sterling Winery and took in 360-degree views from their outdoor patio. The self guided tour is a great way to
get to see the inside of a working winery, without having to worry about a 4
year’s old attention span.
Another great family friendly adventure in the area is hiking in the state park with a stop at the Bale Grist Mill, on the weekends you can watch them grind wheat into flour with the 36 foot water powered mill.
Our classic 1957 Cardinal vintage trailer certainly gets a
few looks when it pulls up next to the a large 5th wheel trailer,
but we love it! The cowboy motif
on the insides provides the perfect rustic feel, complete with original wood
paneling and the leather dinette that converts into a twin bed. A perfect weekend getaway, what more
can you asks for?
